Karen O'Leary is a qualified and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 10 years experience. Karen holds a B.A (hons) degree in Counselling and psychotherapy, a Diploma in therapeutic counselling and a post grad qualification in Child and adolescent counselling and psychotherapy.
Karen works with adults, teens and children from 7 upwards. Karen uses a range of different approaches such as person centred, Gestalt, Narrative, Cognitive and Behavioural therapies with both adults and children.
Karen specialises in working with child and adolescent anxiety and mood disorders using a Cognitive, Behavioural and creative therapy approach. The child learns to identify their dysfunctional thought patterns and behaviours, and gives them coping mechanisms and tools they can use to minimise and manage their anxiety and mood for life.
Karen believes that each person has the resources and innate strength to resolve their difficulties and live more meaningful and fulfilling lives. Karen help my clients to uncover these strengths, resources and aspirations to empower them to implement lasting change in their lives.
Karen has experience working with a wide range of issues impacting adults, children and teens today such as:
Anxiety
